Ashlee Hickman, MS, CCC-SLP is a licensed speech-language pathologist. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Abilene Christian University and went on to earn her Masters of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University. Ashlee is a member of the Texas Speech Language and Hearing Association (TSHA), is a licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of Texas, and holds the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence.
Ashlee has over 13 years experience working as a public school speech-language pathologist in California and Texas. She has evaluated and provided speech therapy for students ranging from ages 3-21, with a wide range of delays and disorders, including but not limited to articulation delays, receptive and expressive language delays, fluency disorders, apraxia, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and cognitive delays. Ashlee spent 5 years on a Texas school district’s multidisciplinary Autism Assessment Team. This position allowed her the opportunity to gain extensive experience in identifying verbal communication, non-verbal communication, and social skills deficits for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. These deficits tend to be unique child to child and Ashlee enjoys the challenge of seeking out the subtle differences to determine each individual child’s needs. Additionally, Ashlee has an interest in girls on the Autism Spectrum and presented on this topic at the Texas Autism Conference in August 2018. She has also presented to public school speech-language pathologists, as well as area graduate students on the speech-language pathologists role in an autism evaluation.
